Kenneth Clarkson
Founder & Lead Mathematics Tutor
I taught IB and senior maths at Kristin School on Auckland's North Shore, and I'm a University of Auckland graduate — so I know the city's schools and the standard they hold students to. Today I work online with families right across Auckland, from the North Shore to the eastern suburbs and out west, and throughout the rest of New Zealand.
The country's biggest IB and Cambridge scene
Auckland's top schools push their strongest maths students into the IB and Cambridge — a real step up from NCEA. Specialist help for those courses is exactly what we do.
IB Diploma
Auckland is New Zealand's IB heartland — Kristin, Rangitoto College, Takapuna Grammar and Diocesan among them.
Analysis & Approaches and Applications & Interpretation, SL & HL — I taught IB maths at Kristin myself.
IB maths tutoringCambridge
Macleans College, Auckland Grammar and King's College stream top students into Cambridge.
IGCSE, AS & A Level (9709) — Pure Mathematics, Statistics and Mechanics.
Cambridge maths tutoringNCEA
Across every Auckland school, NCEA Levels 1–3 remain the core pathway.
Calculus and Statistics, internals and externals, Merit & Excellence endorsements, and Scholarship.
NCEA maths tutoringHow it works
Simple, low-pressure, and built around your child.
Check you're set up
Lessons need a laptop, a tablet and stylus, and a reliable internet connection — so your child can handwrite maths naturally, right alongside me.
Get in touch
Tell me about your child through the Get Started form. Your first lesson is risk-free — if it's not the right fit, there's no charge.
A plan, then weekly lessons
I find their current level and set a plan, then we meet weekly online on an interactive whiteboard — with homework each lesson to lock it in.
Ongoing progress
Lessons run weekly through the term. You stay in the loop on how they're tracking, and we adapt as their confidence grows.

Specialist maths help, Auckland-wide
An Auckland teacher who knows the schools
I taught at Kristin and studied at the University of Auckland — so I know Auckland's schools and exactly the standard they expect of students.
No cross-city traffic
Every lesson is online from home on an interactive whiteboard — no driving across Auckland in the traffic, no time lost in the car.
Genuinely small groups
Group classes are capped at four and matched by level, so nobody is held back or left behind.
Every whiteboard saved
Each lesson is saved to a growing set of revision notes your child can return to before their exams.
Risk-free first lesson
If the first lesson isn't the right fit, it's on me — no charge, no pressure. An easy way to try online.
One tutor, every year
Continuity from Year 9 through to Level 3, A Level or the IB — no starting over each year.

Kenneth Clarkson
My goal isn't just to get your child through the next test — it's to build strong foundations that set them up for the long term. I teach for understanding over memorising, keep lessons calm and encouraging, and tailor each student's path toward wherever they're heading, whether that's NCEA, Cambridge, IB, or beyond.
Sarah J.
I love helping students build genuine confidence with maths — breaking big ideas into clear, manageable steps until they click. I keep lessons supportive, patient, and focused on real understanding.
What families say
“We really appreciate the positive impact Kenneth has had on our son. Michael often tells us how much he enjoys Kenneth's lessons, and they've made a real difference to his confidence and understanding in maths. Thank you, Kenneth, for being such a wonderful teacher.”
